Pork ribs that melt in your mouth ^.^

More and more new restaurants are popping up in 1 Utama recently due to the major renovations done on the old wing over the last few months. While on my way to lunch one afternoon, happened to notice that a new restaurant, Chicago Ribs House, had just opened in the location where Jack's Place used to be.

Decided to head over there with my family this afternoon to try the pork ribs, which I suppose is their main attraction. The place was buzzing with people by the time we arrived at almost 1 in the afternoon, but luckily, we didn't have any problems getting seats.

We placed our orders within 10 minutes and settled down to wait for our food. The menu seems similar to those in Chillis and TGIF, with a variety of starters and mains, though I wish there were more choices for desert.

They're currently having an opening promotion whereby all classic mojito are currently priced at RM3, so of course, I decided to try one =p  Can't say much on the taste since I'm not really an expert on alcohol.

Lan Je Steamed Fish

Found some reviews on this place recently, and since fish is one of my favourite food, decided to head over there for dinner last Saturday.

The place is not too hard to find and by the time we got there at around 6 plus in the evening, the place was starting to fill up. There were still empty tables when we arrived but within half an hour, the whole restaurant was full.

Luckily, we'd already made our orders by then and just had to wait for our food to arrive. We'd ordered two fishes for the three of us. I'd seen from the reviews online that there's only one style used in cooking the fish, with the only difference being the level of spiciness. As you can see, we ordered one spicy and one regular =p

The fish was covered with chopped ginger and garlic, mixed with soya sauce. The spicy version has an extra ingredient, with the addition of 'cili padi' to the mix ^.^ What I really loved about this dish is that there's no fishy smell, especially at the stomach area of the fish. I prefer the spicy version though, as it gives the dish an extra kick!

We also had an order of stir-fried tofu with minced chicken as well as some stir-fried vegetables to balance out the meal. These were just normal though, and was too busy digging into the fish by the time it arrived so no pictures.. 

Had another nice surprise when the bill came, as the total price for all 4 dishes, together with rice and chinese tea, only came up to around RM50!! The fish dish only cost us RM15 each, which was quite cheap as compared to if we'd ordered it in some other restaurants. Anyway, we left that day feeling satisfied and I'm sure we'll be back for more of it soon =)
